The Breathing Cove

In a remote, wind-lashed cove, a young woman is held captive by her superstitious mother, who insists the outside world will devour her. When a charismatic traveler intrudes upon their seaside shack, his promise of freedom ignites a deadly struggle between protection and temptation.

On a remote stretch of coast, Selene and her daughter Diana live alone in a shack above a cove named for the wind that moves through it. Selene has spent her life reading that coast, and what she reads now frightens her. The moon is turning. Something is coming on the wind. She keeps Diana chained inside by the ankle and wears the key around her neck.

Diana has never been outside. She knows the world as a sound through a hole in the roof and a shaft of light through a crack in the wall.

One storming evening, with Selene still out on the water, a well dressed stranger knocks at the door. He carries a map of the coastline, a story about the city three days south, and an offer to take her there tonight.
